Živel Borštnik!
At the Maribor Theatre Festival, we create a training program for members of vulnerable social groups Živel Borštnik !. The project was selected for co-financing in the public tender "Supporting environment for action in the field of culture 2020", carried out by the Ministry of Culture.
In the training program, participants will develop their knowledge and gain new experiences through art and culture. Special attention will be on the development of competencies that are also interesting for employers, especially for those who work in our local environment. Eight people with permanent residence in the cohesion region of eastern Slovenia will be included.
The investment is co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund and the Republic of Slovenia, within the Operational Program for the Implementation of European Cohesion Policy in the period 2014-2020, priority axes: 8. Employment promotion and transnational labor mobility, priority investments: 8.1 Access to jobs for jobseekers and inactive people, including the long-term unemployed and those far from the labor market, including local employment initiatives and the promotion
of worker mobility, specific objective: 8.1.1 Increasing the employment of the unemployed, especially those over 50, long-term unemployed and those with ISCED education 3.
Young people for Borštnik, Borštnik for young people
The purpose of the project "Young people for Borštnik, Borštnik for young people" is to acquire competencies, knowledge and work experience for unemployed young people working in the field of culture, and thus enable them easier integration into the labor market. The reasons and needs for employment are on both sides. Through employment, young people will acquire general and specific competencies, ie competencies that are useful in various professions and in everyday life, and those that are specific and related to the professional knowledge and skills needed to perform a particular profession. On the festival side, the reasons and needs for additional employment are mainly in the expansion of content and thus increasing the need for labor, which is not limited to the festival period. As part of their work, employees will work with most producers / employers in the field of performing arts and thus strengthen their social capital, which often even considers education and work experience when choosing new employees. Employees will be involved in all activities of the festival and will also take on the independent preparation of events, because we believe that this will give them confidence and encourage them to develop their talents.
The project is led by the artistic director Aleš Novak and Miha Marinč.
The value of the project is EUR 75,000.00, of which 80% is contributed by the European Social Fund.
The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Social Fund.
